Sunsets On Other Planets
2023-01-10

Sometimes I make weird things, say I’m going to make more, then move on to something else and forget – only to find them over a year later… The image on the left was sculpted in Virtual Reality, textured, lighted, rendered in Marmoset, then composited with my photography.

On the right is MidJourney’s interpretation. I used an image prompt plus “sunsets on other planets” (which is the title for the still-in-progress series). I later went further by Remixing and adding to the scene. A thunderstorm, asteroids, fire, fog, snow.

MidJourney is a fun experience in creating. It’s exciting, like a good hook at the end of a television show and you have to keep going. That said, there was something awesome about listening to music in VR and sculpting a giant alien landscape. Similar to AI, I had no idea what the final image would look like, but just went with it. In summary, I need to get back into VR more too.

Below is my full image prompt. Image link and everything. Just click-to-copy then travel to my planet! Add things, change your perspective. Make it what you want!

Breaking MidJourney with 50MP

Any mad scientists here? For the past few days I have been running the same prompt over and over in an attempt to break MidJourney - and I finally succeeded… well… kinda. I created a 50 megapixel image (16,320 x 3,072px) and then MidJourney said, “Nah man, you done!”...

Mixing Different Versions

You can mix two different versions of MidJourney with the new Vary Region feature! Want to give new life to an old creation? Just find an old image in your gallery, copy the job ID, then use the /show command to bring it back in Discord - then you have the option to...

InPainting, aka Vary Region

When I am wrong I admit to it, and guess what - I was wrong. The royal we have been wanting and begging MidJourney to add inpainting for what feels like eons. As many of you know, I am a HUGE advocate and word-spreader for MidJourney BUT what I also did is constantly...

One Year Later

I just saw this pop up in my memories and it gave me a good feeling. A year ago today I released the first version of Prompter (the prompt-building spreadsheet) for free just to see if people would use it... I never thought that a year later it would get so much...
